Does this sound familiar?

You are a person who appears to have it all, or at least has it together on the outside.  You are able to achieve success in many areas of life, all seems to be in flow and yet what is going on  with your relationships? (emphasize)  They seem to be out of synch with the rest of you and your life.  And what’s more, you see some  patterns in your relationships that make you scratch your head.   This again?  How did I get here again?  Why am I putting up with this?  Why didn’t I see this coming?  What do I do to change this?

Perhaps you find yourself in relationships in which you end up with someone who says all the right things and/or makes promises and just doesn't deliver (over and over again).  Maybe you are blamed for things you didn’t do, accused of thinking or feeling what you aren’t thinking or feeling, or told that what you know is happening isn’t actually happening.  You start to feel confused and start doubting yourself, your worth, and start to lose your grip on yourself and who you really are.

Maybe  you find yourself becoming:

  • upset, sad, and even despondent about how your needs aren’t being met, and each time you try to address this it seems like it goes nowhere.

  • resentful.  Really resentful.   You might even have envy about other people’s relationships.  Why can’t I ever have even half of what they have?

  • resigned to the idea that since this is how it has always been for you.  No matter how much you try it stays the same (or gets worse).  This is when apathy or avoidance of even thinking about it let alone doing something about it creeps in.

  • frustrated because when you try to fix things your efforts have gotten you nowhere and ultimately turn into more stress.

  • used to some (or a lot of) unhappiness in your relationships and this makes you feel further and further away from yourself and what you want.

  • embarrassed.  You may have started to hide your struggles from your friends and your family.

Waiting and hoping for things to change hasn’t worked.  Being the very best you can be hasn’t worked.  Your relationship(s) still are out of step somehow with who you are.  Out of sync with the rest of you and your life.  Maybe this is the first time this has happened, or maybe it has “always been like this.”   Whether this is the first time this has happened or this is all you’ve known, you are baffled as to how things got to this point.

You’ve tried but you can’t think your way through this.

Getting Started is Simple

1

Free consultation

Use my contact form to reach out to me to set up a consultation by phone.  During this 10-15 minute call we will talk about what you want to focus on in therapy, and what you hope to get out of therapy.  You will also have a chance to ask any questions you have.  If you're ready to schedule an intake, we can do that during the call.  If we feel like we are not a good fit, I am happy to share some referrals with you.

2

Dive in

Following our intake involving history taking, goal clarification, and any assessment(s), we will embark on a collaborative journey to develop a treatment plan that is tailored to your needs.  I strive to create a safe environment for self-exploration, healing, and lasting transformation to occur.  Being a trauma-informed therapist, I am mindful to go at the pace of one's nervous system.

Move toward change

I advise my clients to start out with weekly sessions in order to become acquainted with the presenting concern.   This also allows for some time and space to establish a therapeutic alliance while deepening insight, developing adaptive skills, and having time between sessions to show up in the world and relationships in new ways so that we can deepen and broaden the long lasting impact of our

work together.
